Jered Haun is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, and a member of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Center for Advanced Design and Manufacturing of Integrated Microfluidics (CADMIM), a university-industry partnership founded to develop simpler, faster, and more economical microscale technologies.
Since starting his Laboratory for Nanoengineering and Molecular Medicine at UC Irvine in 2011, Jered has developed novel microfluidic devices and imaging technologies for diagnosing and treating diseases, leading to six patent applications focused on processing tissue specimens for cellular assays and therapeutics.
Jered received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, MSE in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been awarded the Hellman Fellowship, the UCI Engineering Student Council’s BME Professor of the Year, and the UCI Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research.
