Bill is a practicing Intellectual Property (IP) attorney with the law firm of Rutan & Tucker, LLP, one of Orange County’s oldest and most respected law firms. With over 25 years of experience, Bill has been involved with many multi-national and early-stage companies in developing their IP portfolios, most notably preparing and prosecuting patent applications over a wide range of technological fields such as computer electronics, mechanical and medical devices, networking, sensors, software, and data security.

In addition to developing IP portfolios, Bill manages other patent-related matters, including offensive and defensive patent portfolio reviews; invalidity and non-infringement analyses of third-party patents; freedom-to-operate opinions; and due diligence requested by clients interested in acquiring or licensing patents.

Bill has lectured on a variety of patent-related topics and has been recognized in various national trade publications. He is registered as a patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
